Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Garlic Sauce

Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Pound to an even thickness
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use day-old bread for fresher taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For coating
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 pieces eggs Beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Garlic Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk Or half-and-half for extra creaminess
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper For sauce
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Fresh parsley

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Dip each breast into beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and keep warm.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  • Stir in flour, then slowly whisk in milk until smooth and thickened.
  • Add 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken hot, topped with the garlic sauce and garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

To keep leftovers fresh, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave or bake until heated through. For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mixture or finely chopped jalapeños into the garlic sauce.
