Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 4 pieces Salmon Filets Each about 6 oz.

For the Sauce

  • 2 tsp Cornstarch
  • 4 tsp Water
  • 2/3 cup Orange Juice
  • 1 tsp Orange Zest
  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ginger (minced)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame Oil
  • Sesame Seeds (optional)
  • Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • Chopped Green Onions (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water.
  • Add all sauce ingredients to a small saucepan, including the cornstarch mixture.
  • Bring the sauce to a low simmer and cook for about 3-5 minutes, until it lightly thickens.
  • Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl to cool.

Bake the Salmon

  • While your sauce is cooling, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Line a baking sheet with a lightly oiled sheet of foil.
  • Place the salmon filets on the sheet and baste generously with the sauce, reserving about half of the sauce for later use.
  • Put the salmon in the oven and bake for 14 minutes.
  • When the salmon is nice and flaky, it’s ready.
  • Remove the salmon from the oven and baste it again with the reserved sauce.
  • Place the salmon under the broiler for about a minute or until you get a golden, lightly charred top.

Serve

  • Serve the salmon over a bed of steamed rice, topped with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, chopped green onion, and sesame seeds.

Notes

For thicker sauce, adjust cornstarch. Add your favorite vegetables for a complete one-pan meal. Marinate salmon in teriyaki sauce for 30 min before baking for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
