For the icing

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter to be browned
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns brown, then let it cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Baking

Icing

  • For the icing, melt the butter until brown, then mix with powdered sugar, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  • Drizzle the brown butter icing over the cooled cookies.
