Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 cup melted butter
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 tsp vanilla extract

Frosting Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Brownie Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine melted butter and cocoa powder. Mix until smooth.
  • Add granulated sugar and stir until well combined.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add flour, stirring until just incorporated.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
  • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.

Frosting Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, melt ¼ cup of butter over low heat.
  • Stir in milk and ¼ cup cocoa powder until well blended.
  • Remove from heat and gradually mix in powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies in the pan.
  • Allow the frosting to set before cutting the brownies into squares.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can be refrigerated for up to two weeks or frozen for up to three months.
