Instructions

Cooking the Beef

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula into small crumbles. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.

Sautéing Vegetables

  • Once the beef has a golden crust, push it to one side of the skillet. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the empty side. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
  • Stir in broccoli florets, gently tossing them with the beef mixture. Sauté for a minute, allowing the florets to absorb some of the beef flavors.

Seasoning and Cooking Broccoli

  • Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir thoroughly so every piece is coated in seasoning.
  • Cover the skillet with a tight-fitting lid. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender yet still crisp. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Final Steps

  • Reduce the heat to low. Add the heavy cream and stir gently, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. The cream will thicken slightly as it warms.
  • Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef and broccoli. Cover again and cook for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts completely.
  • If using Worcestershire sauce and red pepper flakes, drizzle and sprinkle them over the melted cheese. Give everything one final gentle stir to incorporate the flavors.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot, directly from the skillet.

Notes

For additional flavor, experiment with different types of cheese or add low-carb vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini. Adjust seasonings to personal preference.
