  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Can substitute with almond extract for variation.

  • 2 cups chocolate icing
  • 1 cup mini chocolate eggs for decoration
  • Optional: Food coloring for icing Use for a vibrant pastel look.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Baking

  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Decoration

  • Once cooled, spread chocolate icing between the layers and on the top and sides of the cakes. Use mini chocolate eggs to decorate the top of the cake.

Notes

To keep your cake fresh, store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. For longer storage, place in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze it tightly wrapped for up to three months. Consider adding colorful icing, sprinkles, or edible flowers for decorative flair.
