  • 1 pound frozen meatballs Use your favorite type of meatballs.
  • 1 can (24 ounces) pasta sauce Any variety of pasta sauce can be used.
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (penne or rigatoni) Feel free to switch pasta shapes.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Can substitute with other cheese types.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste fresh basil or parsley for garnish Add extra herbs for flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • In a casserole dish, combine the frozen meatballs, pasta sauce, water, and uncooked pasta.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 40 minutes.
  • Uncover, sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve hot.

Notes

This casserole can be served hot with a side salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage. Optional to add vegetables or switch cheese types for variation.
