  • 1 large cucumber, thinly sliced Use thin, even slices for best presentation.
  • Optional: turkey bacon or chicken ham, sliced Add for extra flavor and protein.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  • Trim the crusts off the bread slices for a clean look.
  • Take a slice of bread and spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture, ensuring the entire surface is covered.
  • Lay the thin cucumber slices on top of the cream cheese. If using, add turkey bacon or chicken ham on top of the cucumbers.
  • Place another slice of bread on top to form a sandwich.
  • Cut the sandwiches into quarters or triangles and arrange them on a platter for serving.

Notes

Serve the sandwiches chilled. For best results, add cucumbers just before serving to prevent sogginess.
