1/2cupall-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)

Preparation
Wrap the tofu block in paper towels and press it under a weight for 15–30 minutes.
Once pressed, cut tofu into 1-inch cubes and pat dry again.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, spices, salt, and pepper.
Coat tofu cubes evenly in the dry mix. Let them sit for 10 minutes.
Cooking
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Fry tofu in batches, turning until golden on all sides (about 3–4 minutes each side).
Drain cooked tofu on paper towels and lower the heat to medium.
In the same pan, melt vegan butter and add minced garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add soy sauce and maple syrup, stir well.
Return the tofu to the pan and toss in the glaze until coated.
Serving
Garnish and serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
Store cooked bites in an airtight container for 2–3 days. Reheat in a skillet or oven (not microwave) to regain crispiness. Ideal for meal prep and packed lunches.
