  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1/4 cup milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preparation and Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, combining well.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • In a separate bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the icing.
  • Once the bars are cooled, drizzle the icing on top.
  • Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, in the refrigerator for a week, or freeze for up to 2 months.
