Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Cooking

  • Place about 2 tablespoons of dough in the center of the waffle iron. Close gently and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the waffle cookies from the waffle iron and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  • Repeat cooking process with the remaining dough.
