  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • to taste Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken breasts.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the chicken for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • In another bowl, mix honey, hot sauce, and soy sauce.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Adjust the amount of hot sauce to suit your spice preference. Let the chicken marinate in the spice mixture for a couple of hours or overnight for even more flavor. You can also grill the chicken for a smoky taste instead of baking it. Try adding chopped bell peppers or onions to the skillet before baking for extra flavor.
