Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps

Crispy, gooey, and packed with flavor, these Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps feature tender garlicky chicken and creamy cheese filling, all wrapped in a golden, buttery tortilla.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Filling

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 tsp Mediterranean herb blend
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • a pinch chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • to taste Salt & pepper

For the Cheese Blend

  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tsp fresh chives, chopped

For the Wraps

  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 1.5 tbsp melted butter
  • 0.75 tsp roasted garlic powder
  • as needed Olive oil cooking spray

Instructions

Cooking the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Season chicken with salt & pepper, then sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Sautéing Veggies & Spices

  • In the same skillet, cook onions for 2 minutes. Add garlic, spices, and bell pepper. Sauté until softened. Return chicken to the pan and toss in spinach until just wilted.

Making the Cheese Blend

  • In a bowl, mix ⅔ of mozzarella + cheddar with cream cheese, sour cream, and chives. Reserve the remaining cheese for assembly.

Preparing Tortillas

  • Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush one side of each tortilla. Place buttered side down on a clean surface.

Assembling the Wraps

  • Spread 2 tbsp cheese mixture in the center, top with chicken-vegetable mix, sprinkle extra cheese, and wrap tightly (fold bottom, then sides, then roll).

Grilling to Perfection

  • Heat a skillet over medium. Cook wraps seam-side down for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Cover for the last minute for extra melty cheese.

Serving

  • Slice diagonally, sprinkle extra chives, and serve hot.

Notes

Make it spicy: Add a pinch of cayenne or jalapeños for heat. Cheese swap: Try Monterey Jack or pepper jack for a different twist. Make ahead: Assemble wraps and refrigerate for up to 24 hours; cook when ready.
