For the Casserole
6slicesslices of breadUse thick slices such as French bread or Challah.
4largeeggs
1cupmilk
1cupmixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)Feel free to use other berries or frozen berries after thawing.
1/4cupsugar
1tspvanilla extract
1/2tspground cinnamon
ButterFor greasing the baking dish.

Instructions
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
Cut the bread into cubes and place half of it in the greased baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
Pour half of the egg mixture over the bread cubes in the baking dish.
Scatter the mixed berries over the top of the soaked bread.
Top with the remaining bread cubes and pour the rest of the egg mixture over everything.
Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Baking
When ready to bake, remove the plastic wrap and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the casserole is puffed and golden brown.
Serving
Slice into generous portions and plate them. Drizzle warm maple syrup over each serving.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. To reheat, thaw overnight in the fridge and heat in the oven at 350°F until warmed through.
