  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced Make sure to slice against the grain for tenderness.
  • 4 cups broccoli florets Fresh broccoli is recommended for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For stir-frying.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Adjust based on preference.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce Check for gluten-free options if necessary.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch To thicken the sauce.
  • 1/2 cup beef broth Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil Adds flavor to the dish.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced beef and cook until browned (about 2-3 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add garlic and broccoli. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until the broccoli is tender.
  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, and sesame oil.
  • Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce over.
  • Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  • Season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat with a splash of water to prevent drying out. For garnish, add sesame seeds or sliced green onions.
