  • 2 pieces ripe avocados Customize the mash with herbs or spices as preferred.
  • 1 each lime, juiced Adds freshness to the avocado mash.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Enhances flavor in the mash.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional) For added flavor in the mash.
  • Olive oil Used for drizzling over salmon before baking.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil on top and season with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) according to USDA food safety temperature guidelines.
  • While the salmon bakes, prepare the avocado mash by mashing the avocados in a bowl, then adding lime juice, garlic, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix until smooth.
  • Once the salmon is cooked through, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve the salmon with a generous scoop of avocado mash on top.

Notes

Store any leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For avocado mash, add lime juice to prevent browning and store in a sealed container, using within one day for best flavor and texture. For a zesty twist, try adding diced tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapeños to the avocado mash.
