Preparation
Place the water into a pot and bring it to a boil.
While the water is boiling, grate the garlic, ginger, and horseradish on a microplane grater.
Place the grated ingredients into a medium bowl along with the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
Once the water is steaming, add 1/2 cup of hot water to the bowl and whisk until the mixture is smooth and there are no visible clumps of miso.
Transfer this mixture to the pot and remove it from the heat. Stir to combine, then serve hot.
Notes
Enjoy the broth warm in a mug or as a base for soups/stews. For extra flavor, add fresh herbs or chili flakes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat to boiling before serving.
